I have been there, and I know how difficult it is, I know what goes through your head and how scared you feel when your right on the edge. It ISN'T easy and I am fed up of hearing people say that. And it isn't selfish, alot of people who commit suicide are depressed - meaning mentally ill. And if they do kill themselves, all people ever worry about is the family and the family feel so sorry for themselves and never once think of how that person was feeling just before hand. And that family are probably completely healthy with no mental problems!
