-- Posted by Anonymous at 8:08 pm on Aug. 14, 2008 Everybody already assumes that once I get to college I'm going to drink.  Why?  I don't get it.  "Oh because a lot of people do." "Because you're that type of person."  And my personal favorite, "It's because you easily follow." The last one really hurt me as it came from my boyfriend, and considering we had sex when we did and he has trust issues and is afraid already that something might happen between me and another guy up there it just...it was a horrible statement (he then was quick to apologize as he say it made me upset and how I took it as for him to mean I'm easy sexually as well, but I'm NOT). I'm not the type to drink.  In the past 18 years of my life I've barely had two sips of alcohol....And to be honest, I don't want to, mostly because I'm scared.  Both sides of my family are overwhelmed with alcoholics, and it doesn't take much for my older siblings to get drunk...I don't know my tolerance for it and I don't want to find myself in a position I don't want to be in because of alcohol. They will always think that. Most people that go to college, do start drinking. I mean, when I got to college, people had STOPPED drinking. More of my friends/peers drank, in primary school, than in college. Few people drink to excess but the casul drinking to infrequent drinking happens all the time.
