I have a topic ready, but I am really not sure how to write on it. My friend Khadijah showed me one of hers. I just don't know what is supposed to be required. The Topic is: "Describe a recent event in which you have showed personal maturity" Either that, Or the one about a cultural experience that I have experienced. The only recent occurrence I can think of is stated in my last topic, My mom passing away of Cancer last Thursday. But yet, I don't want my essay to look like a beg for condolences, and it might be too emotional, rather than something I could say in front of a crowd or anything I want sent to a college. I think that it would really be an idea though. Do not think that this doesn't mean that much to me, I am just still in the shock stages. I would love to write an essay about this though, but I'm not sure how it has changed me yet, Seeing as how it has only been 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. The cultural experience could be when I went to Europe 2 years ago with my Hosanna Church Choir. It really meant a lot to me and I learned so much about other peoples' cultures. Then, There is the topic just about my personal achievements and such. But, I am unsure about EVERY single club I have been involved in, And the only thing I do outside of school currently is dancing. Can someone help me out with writing a kickass essay?

I used my brothers death in one of my essays. I talked to a school councelor about doing it first and she said as long as I used it as a way to answer the question sincerely, it's fine. If you just use it for the sake of mentioning it...then it is obvious its just for pity.

Well, The question is about Maturity, and that is a very large recent event in my life. I would not bring it up just to bring it up, But I was afraid that it would be too much of an emotional topic. I like how no one has replied to this topic except for you. Really shows how much of a support group this website really is.

Like I said, i think it would be fine as long as it's tied into the question well. They are looking for sincerity, so talking about something emotional is fine. And what did you really expect lol? The idea of Livewire being a support site rather than a small scale /b/ is ludicrious.
