If you have written an essay or an article and have been published by a website or magazine and if you were to put it on a college admissions application how much would that count or factor in towards getting into a college?

It would depend upon your major. If it's journalism, it would most certainly help.

It would depend upon the school, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. Your entire "resume" will be considered, from what I've been told.

Good, I got a low GPA from Freshman year but I've done decent since not to mention I just got back from a Summer Programme at Cambridge in which I Made all A's in my classes and got the de facto recommendations of my professors who teach and lecture along with college credit from the Uni it's self.
