I had a really bad episode in Poland. Just stay in the West or the cities where they cater tourists. You don't want to see the poor parts of the former Soviet Bloc.

I live in England m'dear. We all drink afternoon tea and sit outside in the jolly old rain and talk about spiffing things while munching on scones with jersy butter and jam. Not. England is NOT pricey, well... it is in London, Central Manchester can be but everywhere else is fine about 35p (70cents) for a chocolate bar and about 50p ($1) for a packet of crisps (potato chips). I have been interailing around Eurpoe and its just normal I guess...

What a dull holiday. There is nothing to do over here except walk around looking at strange castles and countryside and natural beauty. But then again I am used to it from being little and find it boring...

I am anything but rich. Stay in travellers hostels and have no luxuries when your at home and you can afford to travel. Its not glitz and glamour but you get around alot of places. I prefer the far east like Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Borneo to Europe any day.

I've been to england & france... Of course there are problems everywhere, but for some reason I felt like I belonged in the french countryside... Kinda odd since I grew up in a city, but something just made me feel at home. Like all of the houses reminded me of madeleine lol & england was quite nice too. I'm glad I was able to go off of the beaten path & see the real parts of the cities, rather than just being dragged to tourist places...

I went to Ireland, Scotland, and England this summer. It was quite expensive by American standards. (partially because the dollar is so weak- just 5 years ago the euro and the dollar were nearly valued the same, whereas now the euro is worth almost twice as much) I paid an average of 11 dollars for lunch every day. Ireland is a beautiful place. Everyone tells you that everything is overwhelmingly green- that's basically thr truth. The weather was perfect when we were there. It was cool and overcast most of the time, but not too rainy. (Although you wouldn't always be that lucky). In June, when we were there, it got dark about 10:30 at night, and light before 4 in the morning. It sounds like a miniscule detail, but really, it surprised me to see. Ireland has a really interesting history as well. (I swear, they do). I didn't spend too long in Scotland, but Edinburgh is a really neat city. We had some really funny moments bonding with the locals. (but that's a different story) England is interesting, because of the history. But London's not as great as people make out to be, at least not in my opinion. The Underground is fun, though. Like, really fun. Of course, I can personally only speak for Britain and Ireland, but I have many friends who have been to Germany, France, and Belgium, and they have said the same thing about traveling abroad: You learn so much. You will be surprised. You come away from the experience with a completely different perspective on things; possibly even a changed person. You begin to see things more globally, and realize that you're just one person in a huge, diverse world.

I went to England almost 7 or 8 years ago. It was really fun, I even met Frankie Muniz when he was there on vacation with his parents lol. But now the exchange rate would be a lot higher and everything would be hella expensive now. But I'd go back. :D
