nah, as much as I am not a huge fan of Barack, nothing in that interview suggested to me in the least that he hates christianity.

On the contrary it appears that he admits that Christianity like other organized religions base themselves off important moral values. However he warns against the literal use of religious moral code because it would alienate other non christians from the descision making process on morality.

I believe he was right to say that Christianity does not hold a monopoly on morality, and that there are many ways of interpreting what is moral and what is not in certain circumstances.

I do not agree with him however, on most other things. But I have already gone on long enough.

I believe that Obama is probably an atheist in private, but I don't see how this video shows that he hates christianity.

I don't see this video as showing that he hates Christianity.

-- Posted by PewPew at 9:01 pm on Aug. 18, 2008

So he came to Christianity because he already had similar 'core values'? I don't really see the point, unless he just wanted to add some 'supernatural' to his values for the fun of it.

I think Barack Obama is a Christian because it is very politically convenient and can be used to rally people around social causes. He probably wishes that it was true, but deep down doesn't believe it that much. He talks about Christianity as something more akin to a club, rather than a relationship he has with God and sin.

Thats my psychoanalysis of his religious views, to be honest he will just end up being a slightly more liberal version of Bush.

Because Barrack is Musslim, dickwad.

Interesting thoughts. I've suspected the same based on the generic replies he's given about his Christian faith, but it's hard to say because generally, liberal Christian's aren't exactly the most religious people and arguably, not even Christian.

That is not true at all, his assertions are clearly supported in this video.

Around 2:30 you can clearly see Barrack taking a leak on the King James Version Bible.

Well, you watched the director's cut. That doesn't count because it isn't what she linked.

His father was an atheist so that's probably the closest you're gonna get to having an atheist in the white house.
And Obama says he loves Bill Maher. That makes me smile.
His talk at Google is also quite good.

I've heard that even worse than fathering two black kids, he's actually BLACK HIMSELF OH NOZ.

You're from New Jersey. You don't matter.

Typical comments from the hypocritical evangelical, bigoted idiots.  They will go to any length including lying, creation of lies, distortions, twisting  of words and spreading of lies to support their mission.

If Barrack Obama were a Republican they would claim he's the second coming of Christ.  But he's smart, a Democrat and black which makes him a threat in their feeble weak minds.

-- Posted by Ho Lee Fook at 3:47 am on Aug. 20, 2008

First off I am not American so perhaps my opinion doesn't count :)

Barack Obama was raised in a very diverse household (which btw the US claims to celebrate so can we please live to that standard). His Mother was brought up Methodist and Baptist and chose not to practise these in later life. His father, a kenyan, was brought up a muslim but turned to unbelief in adulthood. There is very little evidence to suggest that Obama is a Christian or even has any belief in God/gods and even less evidence yet that he hates Christianity. We must remember that he worked in his community for years working with local churches. Indeed he says that he was always inspired by "the power of the African-American religious tradition to spur social change."

AMEN

Snopes proven the Muslim and terrorist rumors wrong. Who cares if he isn't Christian though. He could be an atheist for all we know, but it shouldn't matter to us what his religion is. People worry about his race already, let alone worry about what his religion is.

OH GOD, TWO BLACK KIDS?

Well, they are actually 75% black. I'd imagine that is hard to deal with alone-nothing worse than being called a grey area :P

His father was an atheist so that's probably the closest you're gonna get to having an atheist in the white house.

Im pretty sure he was an agnostic, not quite atheistic. That is again, according to Barack, not his actual father who has passed away. My guess would be that he was atheistic, but, again, Oback says he is agnostic.

It would not surprise me if he was agnostic as well. In his book he mentions that his father was agnostic, his mother was agnostic i believe as well, and his grandmother often doubted too but he never escribed her as agnostic-simply a christian with doubts.

I've heard that even worse than fathering two black kids, he's actually BLACK HIMSELF OH NOZ.

If you really want to sling some mud.. his uncle herds goats.

Are we really going to elect a black president who herds goats??

You're from New Jersey. You don't matter.

How you know where I am from creeps me out a bit, but then again, your point is true. I found that out a long time ago and accept it. We will always represent a snobby, tax drenched blip in between Philly and NYC :P

If Barrack Obama were a Republican they would claim he's the second coming of Christ.  But he's smart, a Democrat and black which makes him a threat in their feeble weak minds.

If you saw one of the semi-recent McSmear ads, you'd see him described as the anti-christ.

Please respond and tell me whether or not you were joking. I need to know.

What, you cant tell sarcasm when it is so obviously inscribed in bland, black test posted on an internet message board :P What kind of unamericn teen are you??

In all seriousness, yes, I was kidding. I posted a semi-altered joke that NewsWeek printed half a year ago.

Yes, but they did not disprove the two black children scandal. (Yes, it is a scandal when children are black)
