So, here's the deal. I want to go to medical school after college to become an ER doctor. (Right now I'm a senior in high school.) I was offered an internship, but at a vet's office. My mom says I should go for it because it'll still give me some experience and it will look good on college apps, but it's just not something I'm interested in. Should I do it? Will it help in any way?

It may help you get into a good school for undergrad, which will help you get into a good med school. So yeah, go for it.

not if your not interested in it - you have to be happy - if its not something you want to do then why go for it

That's a tricky one. I'd go for it cause like you said, it'd look good on the collage aps, but there's not really much point in doing it if your not going to really enjoy it or be interested in it. However if you did give it a go, then maybe you'd end up liking it? Feelings can change, and if you do like it then it's something gained, if you dont, at least you know you wont ever like it again. Also, cant you try it anyway? And if you dont like it, then just quit or leave or something?
