-- Posted by breakapart at 1:16 pm on Aug. 19, 2008 there is a certain veterinary clinic that I want to work for, and also do my externship at.  On their website in the employment section it lists to ways to apply- submit your info and they will send you an app, or mail your resume along with a cover letter.  It doesnt say to go to the clinic and pick up an application there.   Would it be wrong for me to just walk in and ask for an application?   I need to expedite this process and filling out an application today would be much faster than waiting for them to mail one to me.   I also need to talk with someone about the externship, so I figure if I go in and the person that I need to talk happens to be available I could talk with them then, or I can leave my name and number with the receptionist.   I dont want to be rude or too forward, but I also want to come across as motivated and willing to do what it takes to get a job with them. ETA-  I expect that they will want to see my resume, but it's not required to apply. -- Posted by Just Waiting Here at 1:23 pm on Aug. 19, 2008 I would walk in and take a resume with you.  Mention what you're interested in and ask if there are any special steps that you need if you are seeking an externship.  If there is someone there (or they can direct you to someone that knows more) about the process, then you can ask further questions.  Just know what you're asking, and show yourself as responsible and actually interested in a position. And if they only repeat what is said online, you can just thank them for their time... However, most places dont even consider people who dont submit a resume.
