If you put your kid up for adoption, do you get anything out of it? Just wondering. And, no, I'm still keeping Kairi. lol She's mine. All mine!

No, I don't think you get anything.

You can be reimbursed for your doctor and hospital bills, yes.

Don't think I'm selfish, or anything. I was just pondering.

If you have a certain type of adoption called closed adoption you get pictures and a letter every so often from the parents.

If you do open adoption then you get to see the child occaisionally and have a part in their life, but not in their raising.

You get the joy of knowing you're giving your child a better life than you yourself could ever provide for it.

Your medical bills will get covered by the adopting couple usually. Some may also pay you, but it is by no means required.

No. Closed adoption means that you don't get any updates and you never see the child again. Open adoption means letters and pictures, but usually not meeting them (although that depends on the adoptive parents; some are more open to meetings than others).
