Most people believe that Wicca is based upon witch craft. It's not, it's based on nature, and the sun gods and whatnot. I wanna know how many of you are Wicca.

:D Yay, I hate it when people think witchcraft and wicca are one and the same. I'm not wiccan but I did a lot of reading on it.

Yeah, I know. I just didn't want to get into it. You are actually able to worship as many Gods as you want. There are different Gods for the different seasons of the Wiccan calender.

No one is a Wicca.  Many are Wiccans, though.

Wicca is based on the natural cycles of the earth, as are all Pagan traditions.  Magic(k) does play a part for many Wiccans lived, but not all.  That is true.  Not every Wiccan is a Witch, but many are.  And not all Witches are Wiccan, or even Pagan.

"Sun Gods and what not"?  Wicca is based on two aspects of the Divine, a God and Goddess.  The Horned God and the Triple Goddess.  Many practitioners see many Goddesses and Gods as facets of the two Gods, some see i as one God can be split as a feminine aspect and a masculine one.  Some follow pantheons - such as Greek, Roman, or Egyptian, some mix pantheons, and some work with a pantheistic view of the Gods, and some work with a hard plytheistic view.  "Sun Gods" are not the most accurate term.

Being a witch simply means you follow the Craft, nothing more.  Most Wiccans do, however, at least believe in the Craft.

Blessed be,
Sapphire

You seem to forget the Goddess.  She is rather essential to most Wiccan practise.

i used to be
now i am atheist
though i don't believe in magic or any religion for that matter i do like that wicca has a very peaceful and kind philosophical base

Yes, for every God, there is a Goddess. I have an entire book on how to start your own Wicca religion. And a couple of books on the religion itself.

Also, you're still wirtting it wrong.  You would say Wiccan religion, not Wicca religion.

And I'll bet you think it's an ancient religion, too, right?

Medicated Smile, "Wiccan" is the adjective form of the word "Wicca." If I am describing something related to Wicca, I will call it "Wiccan." Therefore, calling it "Wiccan religion" is correct, and seemingly the only thing about Wicca that is correct in this thread.

It's shorter, to write. As per the books, I have
1.  Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner
2.  Book of Shadows: Unlined, Triquetra Wicca Blank Pagan
and
3.Essential Wicca

NO.

If you are following anything that Silver Ravenwolf writes, you are NOT A WICCAN. She's bastardized the religion so that it has absolutely nothing to do with what it originally was; she's created something else entirely, and is making a mockery of actual Wiccans by showboating this fluffy crap and calling it Wicca, when nothing could be further from the truth.

I never said that I was Wiccan anyways. I wanted to know who was. I like to read about it. I'm working on seeing auras. It's not working so far. But I never actually said I was Wiccan. I was curious to see if people were, and what they new about it.

Technically it's not. Wiccans don't perform spells. That is actual witch craft.

Auras are closer to New Age than Wicca, jsyk. The two don't really belong in the same category.

Yeah, I know. I wanna be a new age Wiccan. All I can see right now, when I try to see my aura, is black. If someone is next to me I can see there aura when I'm trying to see my own. I don't think I'm doing it right though.

I have a book. It's called, "How to start you own Wiccan Traditon" or something like that. I'm not really into it as much as some people are.

I don't remember, I lost it, or it's at my friends house. SHe's a poser. I define it as a person, or group of people who conduct rituals to certain Gods, or Goddess's. And it has to do with nature. That's about All I know. I know a little about auras.
