So now Russia are after invading south Ossetia?

Georgia has a shortcut to get to some of the oilfields. Plus, Georgia wanted to be independent from Russia and the previous USSR. Typically, their gov't and economy has been pretty good, so Russia definitely wants them back on their team.

Okay, thats what I thought, but i was confused from your response. Anyways, I said that because Russia obviously wouldn't let a fairly successful country go, especially when it means more profit for themselves.

No, it's just a logical answer. I'm a liberal-moderate who reads a fair moderate newspaper, actually. Why do you say it's the last one, though?

Because it's true, Georgia bombed and attacked Russians in SO and Russia responded to that.

didn't that little girl from there say that the Georgian army was attacking their own people and Russia went to stop them? Russia=good guys?

Where did you here that it was certain that Georgia attacked Russia? On bbc.com, it's stated by a Russian analyst that it is 'impossible to lay the blame on either Russia or Georgia'... because 'no one can say for sure weather it was a fuel tank, rocket, or bomb that fell.' It also mentions that Russia has been violate their airspace which is a bit of justification.

Georgia took the first blow and they attacked SO, which is a part of Georgia heavily populated with Russians.
