If an omnific God similar to the conceptions of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths existed but at death it was the end and there was no afterlife for anyone, no eternal reward or punishment, and assuming that this lack of reward or punishment was in no sense an affront to justice for whatever reason - would you seek to do God's will?

Your question and your poll vary in what they ask...

So, your poll choices were too complicated.

I don't believe God and I wouldn't seek his approval.

If there was no reward, then there'd be no point. The streets would be full of rioters and looters, me think.

God can still strike down a bolt of lightning if He's pissed off at you though!

The fact that it's never happened to anyone pretty much proves this wrong.

I'm not in this for the post-life perks.

Poll suggests no-one is. Kinda puts paid to the constant argument that people are religious out of fear of death huh.

It's a hypothetical question. And I currently do *not* seek to do God's will but I would do so if there were no afterlife (and, obviously, if I was somehow convinced of God's existence).

If I believed in a god that had will, I would seek to do it whether or not there was a promise of an afterlife. With no afterlife and no reincarnation/future incarnations, you've only one chance of indeterminate length in which to do things right; if doing things right was doing things by God's will it would amount to a tremendous personal failing to ignore God's will simply because there was no eternal consequence to the choice.

The afterlife is a small part of what I believe - so yes, I would continue to do God's will.
