So I was in training last week on the computer for 2 days & then they just had me bagging things at the supermarket im working at the other 2 days i worked. So now this week they did little training yesterday on the actual register & told us a whole bunch of info.

So today i had to work on register & so did 3 other kids that were in training with me. It was annoying. I always feel in a rush so the customers won't get dissappointed but i have to do my job right. So yeah it's annoying though all these stupid coupons i have to check & WIC & rain checks, so sometimes they don't work & you have to call front end managers to come help & other things & questions. I didn't like it much. I hope i get used to it.

I've worked on register before but that was at the mall & it was a lot easier b/c i didn't work with coupons or government discount craps. Just normal discounts & stuff. Also not knowing the name of a veggie or w.e lol.

Anyone else work on register in a supermarket & how fast did you get used to it? Or at a register else where with a lot of things to deal with.

Just gotta talk to the customers then they don't care how slow you are.

You get used to it pretty quickly. Soon you will scan items like Speedy Gonzalez.

It doesn't take long to get it down pat.
After about a week or two, I could move so fast that the customers were like, amazed that I was finished so quickly.
You pretty much have to learn to be quick.

Lol i don't know what to say to the customers. It's soo much going on around me.

I hope so. Haha yeah i hate when i scan twice & then i have to void the thing & then it doesn't void im like crap what the hell. The thing i focus on the most though is the money, the cash i get & the change i give back b/c i don't want to be short. If i am 5$ over or short im fucked!!

That's not bad then bewteen a week. I hope i do better tomorrow. I mean i don't think i was slow, i was moderate for my first time there. Some other guy who was in training a week ahead of us was kinda slow. Not coming from me. Coming from some guy who came to my line & i was going to go on break & he told my manager to please ring him up before i go on break b/c he was waiting a while on the other line & then on my line b/c some lady didn't want some things b/c she was short on cash.

Lol im kinda shy but like at the mall it was easier to make a random conversation about what they bought b/c it wasn't food lol. Give me an example please.

Haha, I meant more to bug them than keep them happy. I guess it would be harder with food. I always used to like just kinda comment on something strange or personal people bought. Most just kinda look at you weird it's pretty entertaining.

I was just like backup cashier and I hated when they made me do it so I used to screw around when they did.
