So in reality, it would be great if I make the first move for the girl to give us some positive feedback. If you're not interested let us know, "I have to get back to my friends." This is an obvious, not interested, and most guys will take no offense. However, if you're interested just make a small comment like "I like your hair/t-shirt. If you REALLY want to impress a guy touch him on the arm. Touching someone (on the arm, or on the leg if you are sitting down) is a clear signal that you are interested. Nothing too forward obviously, but when a girl touches me, I KNOW that I'm gonna score. Most guys (that aren't ridiculously shy) are willing to make the first move, but aren't willing to be so persistent to make a fool of themselves. Sometimes, if the girl makes the first move and I totally don't expect it, I keep wondering if I'm only going out with her because she likes me and nothing else. I don't mind a guy to make the first move, but if he continues to be the only one making the moves, then I feel totally taken advantage of. And I hate it, and often won't like the guy.
