& i'm pretty overwhelmed & sad lol. i've heard it can be rough in the beginning, but i feel like i'm the only one that feels like crying lol. it's hard to explain, but i guess my insecurities get to me in college whenever i say something stupid or whatever & then i just kind of become distant. it's even harder cause i hooked up with a guy who i'm just awkward around. my roommate is around a lot when i'm with him, and i feel like my personality sucks compared to her's and i become insecure i guess. i know it's confusing, but any insight would really help. thanks!!

get off livewire on a friday night. there have got to be things going on at your school go find them. Find someone playing a game in your student union/center, find a concert or something, find a cofee house, get to know people. College is awkward at first but it will get easier, the answer is to keep trying. Go hang out with that boy, go hang out with your roommate, make friends, have fun! College is a whole new world and you will never experience it sitting in your room on the computer talking to people half way across the world from you.

That's an opinion. Please do not pass it as a fact. You may think her making out with a guy, after a week, makes her easy, but that's just your mindse. Btw, Anon, 'hooking up' refers to sexual contact with another person.

Everyone has insecurities... even those who act like they don't have a care in the world. College is a new and different experience. You have a lot to offer someone, so don't compare yourself to your roommate.

You sound like one of the freshman that I was assigned to. Being a 5th year student I don't really have to get involved but I really enjoy helping new students. Its a shock and overwhelming to so many new students. The sudden reality that hs is behind and you have to start all over again is more than some can accept. I bet the new student's necks hurt from looking up/down and around all day long. You can really tell the ones that look around with excitement vs the ones that are overwhelmed. Things fall in order pretty quickly once the classes start and students find their way around. I lost count at 40 for the number of students that I approached and asked if I could help them find something. One student already sent me a thank you text message. Pretty exciting times. Your life as an adult has now begun! Congratulations....relax, take one day at a time, smile and enjoy the adventure.
