When atheists argue against the existence of God and bash the Bible while doing it.

God can exist even if the Bible not true.

Unless the argument is specifically about the Bible and religion, I don't want to hear about it.  If you don't believe in God, say why.  Don't say "the Bible isn't real," because that doesn't make God non-existent.

The Bible is real.  It's a fucking book.  It doesn't mean it's true.

It would make God a fairy tale.

I agree, even though I'm an Atheist. A god can exist if the Christian Bible isn't right.

I just don't buy the idea that some random powerful being decided one day to just say "oh, I think I'll make a planet." And the whole, happening in 7 days thing? I know you said God can exist without the Bible being true, but the whole foundation of the theory of a higher power, is the Bible. In my opinion anyways. Who knows, I could be wrong. But the whole God idea seems to be just a way of humans explaining things they can't understand, or never will really.

I don't deny the existence of God. You can't disprove his existence. I just take in all the facts and information out there and decide not to believe in his existence.

But I certainly will attack the bible and religion. :)

Way to completely miss the point.

The Bible exists. Its a book, just like Harry Potter. However, just because humans think linearly and can't understand concepts of infinity does not mean we need to fill the gaps with God.

You do realize these people are bashing the Christian God and denying the existence of the Christian God no?

I agree that if the Bible was a total load of bullshit that it would not effect the existence of other Gods.

But what you fail to realize is that these people aren't generally talking about God in all forms. They are specifically attacking the Biblical God.

The Bible is the only real "evidence" put forward for God's (Jehovah's) existence. No refutation beyond the Bible is necessary. If someone gives you a fake I.D. to prove a man's existence, why should you argue the point beyond proving the I.D. fake? Sure, the man could still exist. But if the only evidence for him is the I.D., what exactly does that chance matter?

You stated that is was Jehovah, specifically. Other people on the forum take it to be an argument against Generic God(s) (most famously, Moridin).

Nobody who has any idea what they're talking about thinks an argument based on the Bible is an argument against any god but Jehovah. Christianity is the significant beast in (most of) our culture(s). When you talk of "God," whether generic or not, almost everyone thinks Jehovah, whether they know it or not. People think they're arguing against "gods" when they're actually arguing against Jehovah.

Well without the fucking bible what do u gus's have just some guy inthe clouds

The Bible is the proff of Gods presence...its like disgarding any other book which is vital evidence of someone's presence...

So there for when people disgard the bible they then disgard any true proff of gods presence (which most people need to believe) those that dont need proff to believe in God are truely believers...

The Bible is not evidence of the existence of God. It's a 'guide book', a maintenance manual, so to speak, for the Christian religion. And an explanation of what and why Christians believe.

Is a science book 'evidence' for evolution or the 'Big Bang' or any other "natural" phenomenon? No, it's simply a book filled with words that give one an understanding of those concepts. If no book of science had ever been written, would that change the reality of any of those occurrences? If the biblical God does exist, would the absence of a Bible actually affect His existence?
