As a society, we in the USA have become way too sensitive to racism. I don't know if it's the white victim complex(where we have to feel bad about things white people did 200 years ago) or what, but someone says something about a black person or a hispanic person and it's racist. However, reverse the rolls and have a black person say something about a white person, and the situation is totally different. Case Study: http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-yaistin-support-a.html

Double standards suck, but its the way of the world. EDIT: Not sure if you're white.

The "case study" that you did shows that people don't really understand what racism is, not that they've become too sensitive about it. Then again, what you said about the double standards is true for the most part, and the hypocrisy in it really hinders the idea of total equality.

The day that people can acknowledge the differences between races without automatically attributing these differences to one being dominant over the other will be the day that racism begins to blur. Also, everyone will be the same tint of light brown in the future, so any of this is valid only as long as we are different colors.

Not to mention the ban on gollywogs. Also the Highway Code now has black policemen in it.

It's not that We're sensitive to racism specifically, it's that we're sensitive in general about everything. By the way, I have never gotten away with throwing racial slurs at white people....don't know where you guys are getting this.

I agree with this. People say that lots of things are 'racist', but most of the time, they simply mean that they mention or refer to race. For example, saying 'Sally is black, tall and thin' is not racist, but many people say that is because it mentions her race. It's ridiculous, and political correctness will only continue to get worse as people have to be more and more careful to avoid being labelled as 'racist'.
