My girlfriend and I broke up on friday. I am one that tends to talk to people about my problems or issues, which my ex is not and doesn't talk to anyone about anything. Well I told a few of our friends that we broke up but I'm sure she won't tell them so I told them not to tell anyone. Should or shouldn't the fact that we broke up be a secret?

If one of you doesn't want it to be, then it shouldn't. It involves both of you, and if you want to talk about it, you should.

I guess it really depends on if you and her feel comfortable if people knew. I don't see the big deal on keeping it a secret though because if you 2 broke up for good then eventually it'll be found out anyways

they are going to figure it out eventually

Wouldn't your friends find out anyway? I think it is better that your friends know.

Why should it be a secret? If you broke up permanently, then what good is it to keep it all to yourself?

You are no longer attached to her. If talking is what will make you feel better, that's what matters. Go for it.
