This is a rather interesting discussion that pink isn't actually a colour. Every other colour such as red, green, brown, yellow, auburn, teal, etc, all have wavelengths of light that correspond to the energies (E=hv) they emit. However magenta doesn't appear on the spectrum. I'll save the explanation, because you can read that in the article, but this is quite weird, no? A colour that has no wavelength, that technically doesn't exist.

Trippy.

Magenta happens to be one of my favorite colors.

Black apears on there and that aint a colour either. If it isn't a colour what is it?

white aint a colour. theres a lot o colours that arent proper colours

i thought black was combination of every colour in the universe
-- Posted by imakeyouitti at 12:50 pm on Sep. 1, 2008
Meh, I still consider it a colour/one of the primary colours or whatever.
-- Posted by MushroomSatsujin at 12:50 pm on Sep. 1, 2008
Then what is it? It must be something if we can see it, right?
-- Posted by LadyAlice18 at 12:50 pm on Sep. 1, 2008
if that spectrum were to be displayed as a circle, you would find magenta actually is....it links purple into red
-- Posted by Lulamae at 12:52 pm on Sep. 1, 2008
If we see it...it exists...we call it a colour, therefore it is.

i just realised this is the single most boring thing you guys could possibly be talking about

I never said it was. Black is the absence of light.

No, white is a combination of every colour, black is the absence of light.

But it's not, because the spectrum is linear, the electromagnetic spectrum doesn't include magenta for a reason.

interesting. The article is interesting too.

white would be considered all colors combined.

The majenta has too high of a Hz Frequency to penetrate earths atmosphere. Therefore, it exists, but we don't see it on the spectrum.

I don't see where this comes from. Magenta isn't even on the electromagnetic spectrum, and as such it doesn't have a wavelength, so it cannot have a frequency, so your argument is invalid. Please read the article.

No, it isn't. Black is the absence of light, white is a combination of all the colours.

seriously dude why does it matter? black is either not light, or its all light, whatever black at the end of the day is black

So, I answered the posts because people were still saying the wrong answers. I answered it 3 times thanks I can count myself. No it doesn't, I just want to make sure people know the correct answer. Why is this of so much interest to you anyway? Actually don't answer, please don't derail my thread any further.
