I'm wanting to put new (better) ram in it but I don't know that much about what computers take what. The tag on the chip says: Nanya 0243 NT 128D645H4B0G-75B 128 MB DDR-266 MHz-CL2.5 PC2100-25330 I'm not sure how important all that is but I've been doing some research and found there's DDR2 and DDR3s now. My desktop is an older(ish-idk) Dell computer and I was wondering does it matter what type it needs as long as it's for desktops? You can NOT use a different frequency of RAM. -- Posted by marshmellowman at 5:58 pm on Sep. 1, 2008 It will have to be DDR-226 (your motherboard probably won't be able to accept or use DDR2 or DDR3 RAM), CL2.5, and be PC2100 or PC2300.
