i upgraded my vid card from an GF 7600gt to an 8800 gts 320mb, and threw in another stick of ram for a total of 2 gigs, and now i get less fps in games i used to get wicked fps in. in tf2, any movement causes the framerate to drop somewhere between 15-20 fps. in battlefield 2142, i could run it on high on the 7600gt, but get around 20fps with the 1gig of ram, and now with the new setup, i can't even run the game on medium. wtffff. i've tried loads of different drivers, and still nothing.

Maybe your motherboard doesn't like the new stuff?

... why wouldn't it? it's not as if they have a relationship. the video card just uses the motherboard for it's ports. doesn't sound very healthy to me.

Is it possible it defaulted to a higher resolution, and is having problems with that now?

Have you plugged in the 6-pin power connector into the 8800gts320mb? Otherwise it'll be running in safe mode.
