NO CONTRIBUTION TO THE TOPIC. STAY ON TOPIC AND PLEASE DON'T POST FOR THE SAKE OF POSTING.

Do you have any fucking idea how obnoxious it is to include that in messages? I'm sitting here with no music playing, knowing my dad will be asleep, and then that shit blares out of my speakers at full volume without warning.

It's unnecessary, intrusive and just plain rude. I hate you all.

Woah, that happens ? I'm scared to go off topic now.

-- Posted by I heart nubs at 1:26 pm on Sep. 3, 2008

everything about this reason is obnoxious and unneeded.

LW Says it out loud??

Geez - I thought they just warned you in a PP

-- Posted by Miden at 1:28 pm on Sep. 3, 2008

It is alittle unnecessary in my opinion, but if you dont want sound you still have every right to turn off your speakers.

-- Posted by Prince o palities at 1:29 pm on Sep. 3, 2008

Tim recorded it with just you in mind.

I do not have the ability to see into the future. When I click that tantalising "1 new" button I'm not thinking "hmm, there is a slim chance one of my posts was removed, so I better turn those speakers down".

I shall make a voodoo doll Tim and play it an endless cycle of Britney songs.

-- Posted by MariJani at 1:35 pm on Sep. 3, 2008

I agree, it's soooo annoying.  I always forget about it, until someone replies back to it, then I try to reply back to them, and the sound goes off

Why the fuck should we have to turn our volume down just to open a god damn error message?
It shouldn't even be in the stupid message to begin with. So STFU.

no, it's more like, any time you're on a computer, you should be thinking "hmm, there is a slim chance something will make a noise when i don't expect it"

but anyways that sound should be removed cuz it's dumb

That won't help. You still need to open the message, and the title of the message gives you no clue as to why your post was removed, so you have no warning that it might be for no-contribution.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the sound.

correcto... but i know that message will bring that noise. "removed" is in the title.  If I click "message" instead of "1 new" then it'll open to where I see all the messages.

Okay, but my point is, not all posts are removed for no-contribution. Some are for encouraging harm, requesting relationship, spam, etc. There is no way of knowing WHY the post was removed just from the title, so you cannot anticipate which message will have the sound. I guess it would help to know you had a post removed, but it does not completely solve the problem of a random voice coming out. =)

O ok.  The reason it was deleted depends on whether or not it has a sound or not.

Got it.
