One of my good friends is walking this walk and is attempting to raise $200. Even if you do not wish to support her, please check out her page: Elyse's page for AFSP's 2008 Out of the Darkness Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention From there, you can look for another person walking, or even look how to walk yourself. You may even be able to find an event in your area.

I am actually against suicide 'prevention'. If you mean people literally intervening to make people stop. If you mean helping people without violating their rights before they get to that point, maybe...

I believe the orgnazation is meant to focus on support and resources involving information rather than literally jumping in someone's way.

Okay, fair enough, as long as it's not primarily focused on 'professional' help which contributes to the stigma in my opinion.
