Efficient doesn't mean you have to be an expert but you do have to be able to create and read the code. Also out of the ones you know, what is your favorite and why? I know in C# (derivatives included), Perl, Python, PHP, ASP.NET, Java, RoR, Ajax, Javascript, and picking up much more. I think Java would be my most favorite as the complexity and beauty of it is amazing. I feel endless possibilities with the language. Perl/PHP are runner up considering I am a Web Developer in the real world.

Like, 1/2 of PHP. I can actually read code pretty well. It all is pretty logical to me (at least basic commands and functions) I just cant write it worth shit.

I'm just now learning Java, but computer science is my major, so I'll know more later on. I enjoy it so far.

You won't be disappointed by mastering Java. The amazing things you will be able to do.

html, php, sql (maybe doesn't count), c, very little c++. I plan on picking up some python in the next few weeks. currently learning java... tis my favorite at the moment, also. cross platform + organization ftw. i've had a pretty big hiatus from coding for the past couple of years... just started again recently (as per my other thread you saw), so i'm pretty rusty in pretty much all of these. Been learning Java for APCS, and I like it very much so far.

I am sad however that I rarely use java on the job, I should look for a new job.
