Palin: • Fisherman • Sports reporter • Runner-up Ms Alaska • Graduate of Idaho • 4 years City council • 6 years Mayor of Wasilla (pop 6,715) • 1.5 years Governor of Alaska (pop 683,478) Obama: • Graduate Columbia University • Graduate Harvard Law School • President Harvard Law Review • Civil rights attorney • 7 years Illinois Senator (pop. 12,852,548) • 4 years Senate Foreign Relations Committee • 12 years teaching law University of Chicago Law • US Senator Incase anyone was wondering. I pretty much go against every political decision Sarah Palin makes. She's just not ready to be Vice President, and think if McCain dies, she will be president of probably the most important country in the world. GG. Scary.

FYI, PLUTO is the most important country in the world. Fuck, I thought everyone knew that.

If I were an American I would see a lack of experience as a good thing considering that "experience" sounds like another word for "professional politician".
-- Posted by shadowpool at 12:11 am on Sep. 6, 2008
Both candidates will absolutely fuck up our economy. At least McCain/Palin will be more fun. Obama is too serious.
-- Posted by football at 12:11 am on Sep. 6, 2008
obama really doesn't have much experience regardless. so you can argue obama against palin all you want, but being a senator is not the same thing as being the president. being a governor is pretty much the same job as the president just on a smaller scale. if you disagree with palin's decisions, that is fine, vote for obama, but don't try to pull the experience argument, that's just stupid.

she was also put in the spotlight of the ethics committee for some foul play.

Football is correct. The only real difference between a governor and president is the scale of what they're governing over, as well as the fact that there's more foreign policy involved in the presidency than as a governor (although Palin certainly had some experience with it as she has made favorable negotiations with the Canadians and Russians over some pipeline and other matters in Alaska). Whatever experience Palin has is much more relevant to the presidency than anything Obama, McCain, or Biden has ever had in the Senate, and hence you can gauge her performance in the White House (if for some reason McCain ever did die) much more effectively. Remember, the only real benefits of the "experience" you get from the Senate is that you get in touch with a lot of important people (as well as lobbyists), which helps make your name nationally recognized (consider all the names of the Senators you know compared to Governors). Considering all that goes on in Washington D.C., "experience" in it isn't something I'd consider all that desireable.

I'm not sure I care about this issue anymore. George Bush had a sizable amount of experience. He fucked things up badly. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4569471 Lincoln: 2 years in the House, helped create the new Republican Party, could have been U.S. senator but allowed someone else to be appointed for party balance (former Democrat given the spot. Lincoln was a former Whig). Total: 2 years Wilson: leading academic, president of Princeton University, governor of New Jersey (2 years). Total 2 years

Yes we need a new Lincoln in power so that the government can arrest more state legislature members for daring to say something other than what the president wants them to say!!

There's a lot of truth to these words; the better experienced seem to be just better liars. But in the media age, it's how you can spin something - whether it is Obama or Palin, both sides are trying to capitalize on something they can differentiate themselves by. tk

That's not really the point. The point they're trying to make by it is that she is a hypocrite because she preaches abstinence until marriage yet her own daughter is pregnant. They say that if she can't control her daughter how can she control the country. There's only so much you can do as a parent though. You can't lock you're kid in a closet until they're married. I'm sure she taught her daughter the values she wanted her daughter to live by and tried to enforce those values but that doesn't always happen. Her daughter made a mistake. You people can't honestly say that you do every thing your parents want you to. You can't say that you share all the same views and ideas as your parents, At least her daughter is owning up to her mistake. Taking care of her child rather than killing it. Marrying the father. To me making a mistake doesn't ruin your character. It's what you do about that mistake that shows your true colors. No one can fully control a country, you do the best you can. It doesn't matter how many laws you make or how well you enforce them someone will break them at some point.

If palin's daughter someone she's known for years has such bad morals. Is a skank, that's willing to get pregnant, and throw away her life by marrying/raising a kid in highschool. Then what can we know about Palin? Guilt by association.

Are you fucking kidding? Obama co-chaired a committee with an admitted terrorist! Guilty by association amirite? Obama engaged in a housing deal with a convicted felon. Guilty by association amirite? By your logic Obama is a felon and a terrorist.

I'm throwing the guilt by association thing towards the republicans like they have towards obama for months. You should calm down cunt.

And getting pregnant doesn't make you a skank. A lapse of judgment doesn't mean you have bad morals. I doubt she wanted to get pregnant, I'm sure it was an accident. Who said she's throwing away her life just because she has a kid? There's lots of people that make it through school with kids. In my eyes she's doing the right thing by keeping the baby and marrying it's father.

How old are you? Does your mother know you're on this site? Does she know where you are and what you're doing all the time? Does she control you to the point that you've never done something she wouldn't approve of?
