There was a story on tonight's national news about the dancers in the Paralympic opening ceremony, supposedly 'disabled' are really actually able-bodied people in wheelchairs. I find that disgusting. The story also said that mothers who know they are going to have a child with a disability are encouraged to abort, because disabled people are 'a burden on the family, society, and the country'. Here are some articles on what the 83 million disabled people in China face. It's extremely sad they have to live like this and I only hope the Paralympics will help lessen the prejudice. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/news-and-features/prejudice--the-paralympics-919543.html http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080905.wchina06/BNStory/International/home
