To me, i feel like its a HUGE wake up call for me. I used to be pretty lazy at home and like tend to be a slacker about cleaning, but here I feel like i want to be organized and stuff. I love the freedom, I feel so much more independent and such and its awesome. My roomates are cool and such.

I'll find out in two weeks. But I'm super excited and my roommate sounds like a really nice girl

Well you are living around tons of young people. Not like its a permanent kind of thing anyway. Your just there for college.

Really? I though mine would suck cause i have 3 roomates(all of em are cool) and we got a bedroom and a study room or w/e its called and a bathroom, and its actually just a perfect size, like really i just have a desk in the other room and my bed and its just fine for me, i don't feel crowded that much at all.

It's been fine so far. I'm cool with all my roommates (6), except for one of them who, despite being a 17-year-old (slightly younger than me, but that should be a reason he shouldn't be bugging me), pisses me off. He's one of those guys who, if someone pisses him off, he'll just try to punch his lights out. But the issue I have is that he's not even open-minded about my Japanese Rock. Normally, I'd imagine new roommates would want to get to know who they're going to be rooming with, including their music, but he just calls it all shit, crap, etc. Makes me want to just knock him out, but I haven't because, not having been in a fight, I'm kinda worried about what'll happen if I challenge him and get my ass handed to me.

Meh, at least there's another space open elsewhere on the quad. Hopefully, it'll be better than this.

I can't tell you how much more I prefer houses. Once you live in a house, you have so much room to spread out. And you'll definitely be around people and be able to socialize if that's what you're looking for.

Oh yeah, i think dorms do make me appreciate houses very much so.

I've never been properly transitioned to the dorms. First year, the a.c. was out in the dorms, so I had to find a temporary new dorm. And then the second year, the building's room had been trashed by a bunch of summer football players...and then the third year, it was late move in. :S Maybe next year.

Dorms are the shittiest of places to live.

Not when you have your own lock off room, and share a bathroom, living room, and hallway, with only one other person.

I have plenty of room to spread out in my room. It's got enough space for a four foot fridge, a nightstand, a bed, a desk, a dresser, a closet, and then there's STILL space!

And socializing occurs in the dorms, far more than in my house, b/c my house is 20 miles from campus, and in the middle of nowhere, whereas, campus dorms are...on campus. :P I can spread myself out as much in my dorm, as in my room, at home. :)
