High school just isn't for me. I don't like all the effort it takes, nor the traditional teaching methods. Reading novels, memorizing and analyzing plays, knowing a whole set of terminology that won't help me in the real world is driving me further and further away from wanting to do school anymore.

My nature is that I'm a hard working person when I'm motivated. My interests and talents include technology (particularly in the cellular field), business, money, and just wheeling and dealing in general. What I find the problem in my current situation to be, is that I'm currently slacking off in school, so I'm not doing work like I used to. I'm starting to adopt an effort = money philosophy to life, so since school doesn't pay you to do work - it's not worth my effort. I love working hard. Knowing I'm doing work - and it's stimulating me, and being appropriately renumerated for it is a very good feeling.

I think I'd be perfect in a sales job of some sort - one where I get paid what I'm worth, and what I'm worth is something I'm determined based on how hard I work. What I want to do is real estate sales (because it fits that criteria perfectly), but I'm 15 years old - I can't join a brokerage.

I'm asking you for advice on 2 things.

The first thing is what you think should be done about me in school.

The second thing is, if I'm to drop out, what are my options? I want to be doing work - so therefore I need a job. Do you know what options there are for 16 year olds? I know I said 15 earlier, but I turn 16 in a month and change, so I won't be 15 for much longer.

I've got a feeling I missed a few details, so hopefully we can make this a multi-post thread so I get some good advice as to what to do.

I think that dropping out of high school is really a poor idea. It's something you can never take back. Dropping out of college, if you change your mind you can still go back and get the same degree. Dropping out of high school, of you change your mind, you have to get an Equivilent Degree (which really isn't seen as the same thing).

Even at the ripe old age of 16, I don't feel you have enough options at your disposal to make dropping out really worth it for you.
