it's so overwhelming & i'm so stressed .. it's still early but i feel like i get in a sad mood pretty often cause it's hard for me to adjust :( then i just don't feel like putting the effort into socializing anyone went through the same experience their freshman year .. did it get better?

I dunno about getting better.. But i'm in the same position. I'm sick of all the fucking socializing. I never get time to myself.

Possibly, once I start.

I'm going through the same thing. It really sucks. But I know I just need to get the hang of it and I'll be fine.

I never went out and met people. I associated with classmates, and then made friends with a few of them, but I never went out of my way to meet new people, and, three years later, I'm still not regretting it. I have a good boyfriend, a great family, best friends, and a fantastic job/education.

Yeah dude. I'm not really in the same boat as you because TONS of my old best friends came to my college. Now I do know that I am greedy and I want to meet everyone. I want people to know me and I want to know them so I'm having trouble doing that but with my best friends around it makes it a lot easier. If you ever need to ask me something just message me.

Oops. What I have learned best is that leaving your dorm room door open makes you seem social. People come by and hang out with you. Just last night some random kid from down the hall came in with his guitar and started jammin with me. The problem for me has been meeting people in class kind of. It's not hard it's just that I am sooooo tired, I am somewhat anti social. Now today I'm wired on caffeine and I'm actually ready to go out and be myself. (probably adrenaline because my damn roommate was searching for some piece of paper with a mag-lite all night long.) Go to your dorm events, play sports, go to the rec center. Everyone is in the same boat and they all want to meet people so just go do it.

Can't do that, at my dorms. Leaving your dorm door open is a 50$ fine. 100$ the second time...150$ the third...so on, and so forth.

What in the hell. Seriously? That's dumb. Everyone in ours leaves them open so we can just walk in and hang out with people. It's how people know that you are open for anyone to come in. You can just be walking down the hallways, see someone playing xbox live and be like hey wanna start a game? Get involved with your dorm wing. We had karaoke night last night in our cafeteria (we are a music/arts school) so a few people actually could sing, but the rest of us were terrible and it was just fun to do. Our wing is going paintballing sometime soon, we have gaming tournaments, movie nights. It's an easy way to meet people. My goal this week was to start meeting people in class and I have done pretty well.
