Yeah some people say it's annoying because there isn't a status bar or whatever. They have an explanation for that, but I have a question... On my laptop, if I were to run defrag and shut my laptop would it still be running? What if I left it open and it went into sleep mode? It has been running for about 7 hours now.

If it was running defrag it wouldn't sleep because it isn't idle. if you're worried about it shutting down when you close the lid, turn of the sleep/hibernate function for the lid closed settings. It should be in the power options somewhere in the control panel.

Don't use it. 7 hours sounds like way to long, unless you have a large amount of space that needs sorting. Usually when I see my processor being used for no good reason, I find that Vista Defrag has run when it wasn't set to, achieving nothing. Stick with a third party defragmentation program.
