I'm a stamp collector, and that's essentially how I startled although these days I've been collecting pre 1960 stamps for some reason. Some people collect stamps with a similar theme: space for example and do so worldwide Some people collect Full sheets, some collect individuals, some collect first runs. A good way to start out is by getting a collectors book which lists lots of pictures of stamps and you place (in a specially designed holder) the stamp over the picture. First off regardless of how you do it you want to get some nice cloth white gloves, a tweezer with flat tongs, a magnifying glass.
