there are two parts to this topic, the second will appear if i am correct about the first one: Is Creationism a literal belief in the Genesis story?

Yes. We literally believe someone made a man from dust.

Well i'll take Jamesish's reply as a "yes, it is a literal belief" and i will ask this: Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel.... Where did Cain and Abel's wives comes from?

Thats a mystery. Even my preacher commented on this. There is no absolute answer from me. So yes, I base my beliefs on something that clearly has holes in it. Do I care? No.

that's ok, i just wondered if anybody had come up with an answer to it since i last studied it :) x

O and referencing more to your topic... Abel didn't have a wife. He was probably killed too fast. Cain and Seth did. Cain's in unknown. But they say it was his sister most likely. Seth married his sister Azura. Adam and Eve had other daughters and sons also.

dpends which stance you take was the bible written by moses on the top of mount sinai (in addition to the 10 commandments), influenced by god or was it a mass canonizing of jewish sacred texts which occured through the solomon era of the kingdom of judah. youll notice that there is tend between people from low socio-economic status and those who take bible entirely on a literal level. also the less educated seem to view the bible as hard fact without accepting the facts which science proves to the world as the bible seems like a simpler peice of writing to understand

sorry im don't know enough enough about islam to make a knowledgeable statement. i can only really talk about the old testament, otherwise id be making blanket statements and assumptions. there have been studies to prove my above statements in judeo-christian society but i dunno about islam
