What do you plan on naming your children?

My first girl will be Kartik, pronounced Car-tea.  Probably with the middle name Kay.

My first boy will be Rhett Joseph.

Other girls will be Scarlett, Kelty, or Brenan
Other boys will be Michael, Bryson or Wesley.

I had a friend at school named Kartik, but he was a boy.  It's a cool name though.

I haven't decided the names of my future children... I will leave that for later. But some names I like are

Girls: Lily, Moira, Samantha, Amanda,
Boys: James, Jack, Dustin,

I'm actually going to give my kids proper, real, sensible, common names so they dont get fucking bullied.

-- Posted by The Artery at 9:20 am on Sep. 19, 2008

I really like Chrisel, Estrella, and Demi (no, not because of demi lovato)

-- Posted by Chiefette at 9:21 am on Sep. 19, 2008

I had originally wanted to name a boy Kartik, because after all it is a boys name, but I didn't think it would go over as well for a boy where I live.  I love the name and the origin.

My name is Amanda and I absolutely hate it...lol

I really like "Parvati" as a girls name.

Then again, I watch too much Survivor.

Names like what?  John, Joe, and Jake so when someone calls there name 15 other people look.  Just because you don't like a name, doesn't mean it isn't real or sensible.  You think common names keep someone from getting bullied?

I like Demi as well, but it's not one that I would use.  I thinks it's pretty.

Of course they'll get bullied. But not on the extent that some kids get bullied because they're given absolutely ridiculous names.

-- Posted by Chiefette at 9:44 am on Sep. 19, 2008

What you see as a ridiclous name isn't what everyone else sees as a ridiclous name.  Did you ever think that there are different nationalities on here?  Different cultures?  Not everyone wants a "good english name".  There are many reasons why kids get bullied, and their name typically isn't one of them.  It may be something they use to get under their skin, but it's not the reason for the bullying.
Either way, just because you see a name as ridiculous doesn't mean it isn't real or sensible.

Girls :  Camilla, Veronica, Belle,
Boys : Thomas, Nicholas, Hayden

Oh, what happened to good old fashion names?

-- Posted by lovergurl96013 at 9:46 am on Sep. 19, 2008

Boys: Keagen, Wyatt, and Broudy
Girls: Tanna, Alexandra, and maybe Victoria

-- Posted by Chiefette at 9:47 am on Sep. 19, 2008

"Good old fashion names" is a relative term.  Good old fashion names from the UK are different from those in the US, and the ones in the US are different from the ones in India and so on.

-- Posted by Raiku at 9:48 am on Sep. 19, 2008

i would name mine "certainly not mine"

I love the name Kegan, but have only ever heard it used for a girl.

-- Posted by police disco lights at 9:58 am on Sep. 19, 2008

River Emery or Aiden Parker for a boy.
Tegan Eleanor or Tilly Rain for a girl.

-- Posted by Ania at 10:38 am on Sep. 19, 2008

I'd name my girl Sophie or Rain. I dont know for a boy.

But then again I dont live in an english speaking country so i'd name my girl Nika, Zala, Neli, Ana, Zara, Kaja (Kaya), Lana, Lian, Liu, Pia, Tea (Teya), Ula...
And boy would be Tian, Mai, Rene, Nik, Brin, Taj (Ty), Jon (Yon), Lukas, Jan, Han, Bastian, Ben, Domen, Filip, Gal, Sven, Val, Kris, Lan, Leon, Marcel, Svit...

Gosh, I just couldnt decide.
