I have one friend who constantly tells me to stop cutting myself, to think of other things, to do other things... That's really not enough. And it tears me up to tell him that. It tears me up to tell anyone that. I can't help but feel like people caring for me is encouraging a cycle of self-hate, resulting in suicidal thoughts/plans.
