Righty, ive been on 'Mircogynen 30' for about two years which is a three week on one week off pill. But for the last 3 or so months ive been on it without a pill free week. untill early in the week i found out some medication i had been on could affect its affectiveness so i came off to take a pregancy test. the test was negative and of course i got a period but i want to go bak on the pill like..right now. Do you think it would be okay considering the length of time ive been on it? I only stopped taking it four days ago. x

I can't advise you about that though a pharmacist or doctor could. I just wanted to emphasise what you mentioned about BC pills- or any hormone based birth control method- that they can be affected by other medications. Antibiotics are a common one. http://www.smart2ask.org/Contraception.htm#BirthControlPills

The pharmacist should be able to tell you quickly and for free.

You shouldn't have to have gone off your contraception in the first place- pregnancy tests will give you the same results whether you are on contraception such as the pill, or not. It detects a completley different hormone than any hormone that you get from contraception. As for if you should go back on the pill, honestly, talk to a doctor about it.

If you go back on it, you'll have to use condoms for 7 days but after that you should be fine.
