The doctors around here are ridiculous.  i was prescribed to oxycontin 20's about 3 years ago, and i told my doc that i was still in pain, so he kicked me out of his office and told me not to come back.. i took him to court and his office got shut down for malpractice... but i've been to 10 different doctors since then and they don't want to accept patients who are on a drug like that.  God knows why not... You must have been told to either exercise to build up muscle or require an operation.
