I'm diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome ADHD and bipolar and lately I've been acting wild hyper. My parents say I don't have ADHD or bipolar, so they have no clue what they are talking about or what to expect from me. These days, I've been running and jumping about the house and laughing/obsessing over random things. It's hard for me to control my behavior sometimes. I'm on Adderall for ADHD and Abilify and an anti-depressant for bipolar. But they don't seem to work. My dad yells at me for jumping about and my teachers act like I can control it but I can't! I don't know what to do, this hasn't happened in a very long time. Is it normal? Everyone at my school thinks I'm a weirdo because of my behaviors and it's really hard to make friends. My sister also makes fun of me for being disabled since she's not, and her friends think I'm a baby! Anyone wanna help? Thanx

Try getting a higher dose of Adderall or check into Vivanse as well. Vivanse may be just ADD I'm not sure though. Anti-depressants arent for everyone, maybe you need to up the dose or ease off of them, or even get a knew one, Prozac, Lexapro etc. Talk to your doctor. If you are diagnosed why dont your parents believe you?

ADHD causes hyperactivity of the mind. Meaning, you have a very difficult time concentrasting and keeping on task. I have ADHD, and it doesn't cause you to go crazy.

Hey Shannon. Taking stimulants and anti-depressants without some sort of break..... will cause you to get tolerant to the medication effects. I would suggest taking breaks from your medication from time to time. Also... perhaps you are being a little over paranoid about your ADHD.... if your teachers are saying that you are doing well... then they arent going to lie about it. Paranoia is a common symptom of ADHD.... do you often feel like people are talking behind your back? Well.... thats another common symptom. Try listening and trusting in what certain people say.... if you are being told that you are doing well.... then praise yourself for it.... dont beat up on yourself and say your not doing well enough.... because you obviously are.
