if you just started dating someone and you found out they had only dated one person before and it was a four year long relationship? assume you're like college age

Not if they are done with that person, id like it, since you know they are the kind of person that likes longer relationships and obviously can be trusted more if it lasted 4 years if your only in college thats a pretty long time

I feel weird telling people Ive only dated one person but Im only 14. Its not that weird because if they college, Im assuming 18, then it started when they were young. Any older, it be kinda weird. It would be really weird if they were like older than 21.

no. they could have friendships with others that just didn't turn into relationships

-- Posted by jennay at 5:07 pm on Sep. 26, 2008

well its not so much that it was only one relationship, just that it was so long. you dont have a chance to date that many people when you're with someone else for so long

The only thing that I might find slightly scary is if, after four years, that she still liked the guy that she was with for so long, and not over him.
If you trust that she's completely and totally over him, then I see absolutely no problem! It shows that she can take commitment.

Forget about it.  It will only create a negative image in your mind.  Date him several times and the story of why the relationship broke up will come out.
