My hand is my hand, but who is the owner of the hand--who is me? My brain is my brain, but who is the owner of that brain? My lips are mine, but who owns them, who is the "me" referring to? What is mine? Who is the being who owns this? We refer to our body as ours...so who is the owner? We refer to our soul as ours, so who owns it? Is there any force other then "me," anything else to describe yourself as? I know this makes very little sense, it's hard to explain my question.

You are an emergent property of your brain. Should your brain be damaged, you are altered.

But you do exist. Rene Descartes went through the same shit years ago. I think, therefore I am. As for who the owner is, that's a little more complex. Technically, the owner of all those organs you named is you, since they belong to you. It's that simple. If you have a samsung phone, you didn't make it, Samsung did. But it's yours. It belongs to you.

Would this be the same thing as: You are what you eat?

No, because what you eat becomes part of YOUR BODY, which is a completely different thing then YOU.

If I am my school teacher, I would answer "God."

In different tribes and that sorta thing, it is believed that if you eat someone then that person lives inside of you. So essentially you are both yourself and that person. Hence, you are what you eat.
