I went to college last year, first year of A level, and it was very disrupted. Now I've started my second year of A2 but I really want to take a year out and get a job. I just can't stand it. I like some of my lessons but I've already got job interviews. I really want to get a job but the only problem is my mum- she really wants me to stay at college! I need to make a decision, fast. What should I do? Help

Get a part time job that fits around your timetable?

I don't know. Maybe both. that's what loads of people here in Newfoundland do it.

I'm still going to go to college- just take a year out and get a job. We're a pretty poor family and the money will be useful

It's important to make your own informed decision, and not just do something because your mum says so. But do consider all the reasons before you make a choice. If it's just because you want extra money, but your family gets by, I think it's worth just sticking it out until you graduate. On the other hand, if you don't think college will benefit you and you don't like it, then it's reasonable to not do it.
