I was recently diagnosed with mild epilepsy and so I have seizures occasionally. It's really hard to deal with, especially since I'm also deaf in 1 ear. I was sitting in church one time and I had a little seizure in my seat. The cranky old lady sitting next to me slapped my shoulder and said "You're a young lady in church and you need to act like it!" I was humiliated and the worst part was my mom took the lady's side! How could she do such a thing? I thought epilepsy was well-known and common. And besides, it's not my fault I have it. I'm not on any anti-seizure meds but I should be. I guess that's not necessary since I usually can do fine in school. But once I start having a seizure, I find it difficult to calm down and remain focused. Does any1 have any advice? Does any1 know what it's like to have epilepsy? Thanks

i'm not exactly sure what epilepsy is like, but i have had seizures before (Brain tumor, surgery/removal. Pm me if you wanna talk about it) and it does suck. i know where you're coming from. I was on anti seizure meds for a long time. and they worked. see if you can get any medication for it. The meds i took were called Tegratol ask your parents or call your doctor or something.

u should research it. maybe ur mom didn't feel like embarassing u even more by explaining ur problem to the old lady or she just didn't know u were having a seizure.

That was horrible of your mother to take that old ladies side. Did she know you were having a seizure?
