My passenger side door handle doesnt work. Any idea of what could cause this, or how easy it would be to fix.

It pulls open, but it doesnt feel like its attached to anything. The one inside the car works fine though. The car unlocks and locks fine, and the power locks seem to be working fine.

(if it matters, this is for the 86 Celica)

If its something not to hard, I can take it to my friends house and he can help me do it.

I cant afford to take it to a body shop, and when I do, thats pretty low on my priority list.

Maybe the mechanism on the inside of the outer handle is broken, thats what i would guess since you said it doesn't feel like its attached to anything

you might want to take off the interior door panel (which isn't too hard to do, most of them just snap off and back on) and check to make sure the handle is still connected to the latch cable. If it's not, then you need to just hook it back on, and if it's broken then you need to replace it. You can have it done professionally, but expect to pay quite a lot more than you would if you just did it yourself.

If you want to see what a working handle looks like on the inside, just take off the panel for the other door and check out the mechanics, and see what's different between the two, and that should help you fix it.

The linkage might have broke and/or disconnected itself.
