I am ambivalent about it, parts are interesting, parts aren't, but one thing that I'm not ambivalent about is the Genovese duo. (Eugene and Elizabeth Fox) who I have become quite infatuated with. Now I offer you the opportunity to a) burst my bubble with cogent criticism, b) rejoice in shared appreciation - or any of the many possibilities in between. -- Posted by Hi Carie at 12:06 am on Oct. 4, 2008 I read Feminism Is Not the Story of My Life about 2 and 1/2 years ago and fell in love with Elizabeth Fox Genovese. If I had to classify myself as something, and I really try not to, I would say I am an antifeminist. I find many things about the feminism movement disturbing/appalling etc and and really identified with a lot of the things she said. I have been intending to read more by her and have not yet. this thread has reminded me that I should. Her views on the women of the antebellum south are very interesting and i have seen a lot of critique/comment on them, but not having read them I dont have a lot to offer in that regard.
