2 made me suicidal! effexor xr and cymbalta. if you think they work you should take a minute to think if in the near future you want to kill yourself.

If you plan on having kids in the future...I wouldn't take them...that might just go for girls though. I'm not too sure. :/

Nope. I took effexor. Nothing. My most effective anti-depressant was weed

They don't work for everyone, no, but they do work....Or they're supposed to.  It's all about chemical balances, and probably like most other medications you feel worse before the effects start to make you feel better.

But antidepressants DO work for people, again just not everyone.

Yeah considering the only one approved for kids under 18 is Prozac.
Plus I'm pretty much against medicating people under 20.

I'm on Effexor too and it's done no good at all... They're finally taking me off it after a year..

They do work for me.

Some anti-depressants will increase suicidal thoughts while decreasing depression, to a point. So they may seem like they aren't working until they fully kick in and do what they need to do.

Depends what you define as 'work'.

Suicidal thoughts are actually a pretty common side effect for antidepressants. Ironic, no?

if by ironic you mean its sad to see kids going down because they were told it would help? yeah thats ironic.

They have that as a side effect, it messes with that balance in your brain
