People copied the original word-for-word by hand. The bible has been lost in translation and who's to say that the people copying it actually copied it correctly? Who's to say the copiers didn't insert their own little tidbits? I agree though there are many mistakes, but the original message is still intact. We should consider reliability, credibility of the author and the authenticity of the source. The Bible presumably scores with a big range in these terms, some parts very poorly and others relatively highly, due to the number of authors and its age.
