if i'm over-reacting. i get compliments from teachers, peers, family... everyone about my voice. however, when i go to audition, i don't even get CONSIDERED for any part by the same people who choose to compliment me and tell me to audition... i'm about fed up. i kinda don't wanna audition for anything anymore...

That's how it was for me. I've always been told I have incredible stage presence and a powerful voice, but I've never been considered for solo roles, or major parts. I've been in competitive acting for five years. I auditioned for a HS play when I was in Middle School. [I was one of four girls to be allowed to audition], and two girls were chosen. I was not one of them. Frankly, the two girls who were chosen didn't have a voice like I did, not to be egotistical, but they didn't. It might not really be you, it might just be the perspective. One person will look at you and say "Wow, she's gorgeous. What an amazing voice." Another will say, "Mmm.. she's kind of plain looking, and her voice isn't THAT amazing." It's how you play the game if you want to get in the sort of business.
