Hi guys, im trying to write my personal statement at the moment and I would appreciate your thoughts.

I am finding it really hard to get what I want to say down on paper, simply because I know just how important this is.

The first two paragraphs need to be about me, and why I want to study psychology. This is what I have so far.

Being born an identical twin raised, for me, issues of individuality; issues which lead me to question my sense of self. As we grew up my brother and I were treated as the same person and therefore I don't feel that I, like my peers, was able to develop my own sense of individuality.

I am hopeful that being given the opportunity to further develop my understanding of human behaviour will help me to answer many of the questions I have about myself.

Please comment, and give it serious thought..

I don't know how old you are, probably 18-20, and I don't mean this as a personal attack, but I don't think it makes sense to have people our age concoct a personal statement, as we don't have that much experience in life and not that  many avenues from which to develop such a statement.
If I were asked to make a personal statement today, I'd have to go looking for things to say.  But a real personal statement is supposed to be a codification of what you believe and a personal philosophy on life, which I've not yet developed.
Anyhow, I know this is an assignment and I don't mean to rain on your parade, just my thoughts.  Sorry I couldn't be of help.

I'm 19, and while I understand what your saying I think peer review is one of the best ways to assess something like this simply because anyone my age, going to university in the UK will have been through this process and will have most likely been taught about what to write.

I know what I want to write anyway, its my writing style, the flow that I want people to comment on.

Thanks for replying to my topic.
