Alright. I think this is in the right spot. can anyone explain to me what an IP Address is and what it does to your computer or whatever.

basically it is the id for your computer on the internet. if you are on the internet i think that they can track what city you're in

It basically is unique to your connection. Shows where you are and who you are as far as the internet goes. Which is why I proxy. weeee

It's your computer's identity which separates it from the other computes logging on.

Its how a computer is identified on a network. In the case of the internet, its how your network is identified on a system of networks. Your home network (even if its just one computer) would then also have its own system of IP addresses assigned to every device (Modem, router, computer, xbox, anything that connects to the network)

It's like your computers telephone number. Then the DNS system is like a phonebook so that you don't have to remember numbers, but rather can use words.
