I'm just wondering. Whats a fitting end for friends who started out fighting evil together, then one went down the wrong path and has done some terrible things. Now they are in their final battle, former best friends now mortal enemies. What should the outcome be?

Ive got it narrowed down to this:

A) The evil one dies
B) Another true evil appears to be pulling the strings
C) They both die
D) The Evil reconciles and they end up back on the same side
E) The Evil one loses his powers
F) The Evil one is put comatose, and will return later in another book

the hero dies. that would be a great twist

they both die but evil goes down first

i think it'd be cool to have them fighting and one's about to kill the other and they look at each other and have a flashback and remember how they used to be friends and then then they forget about killing eachother

Psh.

A twist would be much better, where it turns out that the "evil one" is actually good, and the "good one" is actually evil.

It turns out they were the same person all along.

WHAT A TWIST!

hero dies but leaves an imprint on the evil one who turns good later on (in another book)

evil goes into a coma only to haunt the good guy when he wakes up in another book.

Another true evil appears to be pulling the strings

that would be nice but it just sounds so sappy

sounds just like the darren shan books but:- i think the good one should die and not the evil one

The good one dies from something the turned evil one did... and this makes him realise the error of his ways & mend them?

Or is that just cheesy?

Keep the story going from the bad guy's perspective.
