My roommate is really weird and makes the room smell. he decays on his bed while on his laptop all day, even if it's sunny out. The main problem is the smell, and his smelly girlfriend that sometimes comes to visit. I want to switch, does anyone have advice or consoling comments?

He's not the most desirable roommate but he doesn't complain and keeps to himself

just tell your RA and tell the roommate your leaving that you'd just like to move in with your "friend" and its nothing personal. my original lesbian roommate (im straight) decided she wanted to move in with another lesbian, they came up to me and just asked i gladly accepted the offer. lol but now my new roommate is worse. ha.

your best bet would be to try to talk to your roomate about it. because he may not realize that he infact smells like shit, if nothing comes of it after a week then inform your R.A. about his personal hygiene issues, because once someone in the housing staff ( RA including) it is easier to go about moving out, Vincennes University (the college i was an RA at) had a policy that if you know who's room you wanted to move into and they had an open space (like a friend) you could move mid-semester with a 10 dollar charge (they said it was for processing or some BS like that) and then the residents were free to switch. hope this helps good luck hang in there. ~ Patrick
